Animating Science Workshop

We have an exciting workshop taking place next Monday the 17th, from 12-1:30pm in CTIR 1.23. Animator Andrew Low from Dundee Contemporary Arts will be leading a short workshop on using the iPads and I Can Animate software to create short science films in preparation for working with schools on the Animating Science project. Please come along and give it a try, you never know what you might create!

Platinum Informatics make the final of Converge Challenge

The newest spin-out company from the School, Platinum Informatics Ltd, has already been recognised by Converge Challenge who aim to create a new generation of entrepreneurs in Scotland. The company founded by Professor Angus Lamond and Rob Kent has made the final for the Converge Challenge award category for those with an established idea. The company looks to maximise the efficiency and productivity of the modern workplace by enabling access to Big Data Technology. 

Scottish Secretary meets Tay Cities Deal bid representatives

The Secretary of State for Scotland, Rt Hon David Mundell MP, heard details of the bids being made as part of the Tay Cities Deal to bolster Dundee’s considerable strengths in biomedical sciences, forensic science and cybersecurity, in a visit to the city today.

Representatives of the three bids, including one involving the School, met with the Secretary of State at the Discovery Centre in the School. The bids are set to transform the innovation capacity of the Tay Cities Region delivering jobs and long-term growth.
