Storage and backup can be purchased in advance of usage and will be charged at the cost of expansion required. The cost takes into account all the required infrastructure including Servers, Software, Storage and Network Switches, Storage Controllers and UPS systems.
There are 5 performance levels available for purchase depending on the application. We would recommend Alloy performance for most applications.
Alloy disk is most commonly used for Lab Shares particularly for volumes of 1TB and above. Bronze disk is most commonly used for Cluster users homes and shares. Silver is suited for a high number of users on a relatively small total disk volume or database servers. Gold is suited for applications such as high performance database servers. Platinum storage is used to provision VMs and provides advanced Storage Virtualisation features using IBM Storage Virtualisation Controller including multi site replication.

Workstation and Virtual Machine backup is charged at £100 per annum with data use above 50GB charged at £0.25 per GB per annum.
The fixed cost, £100, represents the licensing and management cost with a reasonable amount of data.
The scaling cost, £0.25 covers the additional tape media and library slots required.
