The College of Life Sciences is delighted to announce a new exhibit at Sensation, Dundee Science Centre highlighting all the different types of life sciences research for which the College and Dundee are internationally renowned. The exhibit features the Wellcome Trust Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression film Sharing Science and explains, in language suited to the general public, the significance of the research going on in laboratories just up the hill from Sensation, at the College of Life Sciences, University of Dundee.
For younger members of the public there are also interactive displays explaining the way in which scientists work from -basic research to discovering drugs for diseases.
The new exhibit got off to a great start on Sunday 10 July with Sara ten Have and Kelly Hodge sharing the secrets of cell biology and mass spectrometry with large groups of parents and children.
The next phase of the project will see the installation of a screening robot to demonstrate the technical capacity of the Drug Discovery Unit.
The exhibit is set up specifically for the public to meet and interact with scientists. If you are interested in running workshop or interactive displays or have any ideas on ways in which to develop the project then please contact Sarah Hussain at S.Hussain@dundee.ac.uk or on Extension: 81023.
