Applications are sought for Principal Investigators in the Division of Biological Chemistry and Drug Discovery, with strong research interests in biochemistry or molecular biology applied to infectious or orphan diseases; or computational chemistry applied to drug discovery. The successful applicant is expected to develop collaborations within the Division of Biological Chemistry and Drug Discovery and more widely within the College of Life Sciences and University of Dundee.

The College of Life Sciences is one of the premier Life Sciences departments in Europe. The Division of Biological Chemistry and Drug Discovery has wide ranging research interests, including bioinformatics and chemoinformatics, molecular parasitology, structural biology, computational chemistry, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, molecular pharmacology, medicinal chemistry and biological chemistry. The quality of the facilities and equipment throughout the School is exceptional.

The Division of Biological Chemistry and Drug Discovery places a strong emphasis on translational research and houses the Drug Discovery Unit (DDU), with all the capabilities for early stage drug discovery up to preclinical candidate stage. The main themes of the DDU are drug discovery for neglected diseases and novel targets and pathways.

We are interested in recruiting Principal Investigators at any level (Lecturer through to Professor). We welcome applications from candidates who have established an independent research group, have been successful in obtaining research funding and have a strong publication track record. Applicants will be expected to be competitive for personal fellowships and/or programme level grant support.
