Dr Piers Hemsley, a Principal Investigator in the Division of Plant Sciences, has been awarded tenure today.
Piers conducts research with the aim to understand how protein S-acylation (palmitoylation) acts to control protein function, with particular emphasis on its role in stress responses and development in plants. Alongside this, Piers is the teaching lead for Plant Sciences which includes being course coordinator for the level 4 plant sciences programme. He also is actively involved in public engagement with activities such as the Gatsby Trust Plant Sciences Masterclasses.
