In preparation for this year’s Magnificent Microbes event, researchers from the Division of Molecular Microbiology held a Development Day at Dundee Science Centre on Friday 10th February 2012. The event was attended by 24 Primary 6 schoolchildren from Balcurvie Primary School in Fife. The children were invited to take part in a range of interactive activities and learn about the fascinating world of microscopic bacteria and fungi. The feedback from students is crucial in helping the scientists develop their activities for the main event.
Magnificent Microbes will take place at Dundee Science Centre (for invited schools only) on Friday 9th March 2012. 180 school children are expected to attend, and it is anticipated that even more kids and parents will on Saturday 10thMarch, a free public open access day.
