This year Generic Skills Dundee ran its first Venture Programme to promote enterprise to research staff and students. Mhairi Towler, from the College of Life Sciences came a very close second in this recent competition with her Idea Development Plan: Scientific Animation in 3 Dimension for Communication - "Viva-mation".
This programme was funded by the EPSRC and included a series of workshops culminating in a competition. The workshops were for Early Career and Postgraduate Researchers who either had an idea that they want to foster or who wanted to work on their idea generation and development. It was also open to any researcher interested in exploring potential commercial applications for their ideas and those looking to develop a strand of their work into a new area. The competition wasopen to individual or team entries.
