My name is Christa Baker, I am from Norther California, USA. I joined the 4-year WT PhD Program in December 2019 and am currently in my third rotation in Professor Ciulli’s Laboratory. I received my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of California, Davis; and completed a MRes in Biomedical Science at the University of Glasgow where I investigated the ability of physiological protein, Klotho, to stimulate energetic shifting from oxidative phosphorylation to glycolysis in mouse aortic smooth muscle cells in a PINK1 KO mouse model (Mercer Laboratory). My rotation project in Professor Ciulli’s laboratory is largely focused on testing functionality of PROTACs in living systems. In my free time I enjoy mountain biking, cycling and running with my friends.
