Dundee Biological Sciences courses ranked 3rd in UK

Biological Sciences courses at the University of Dundee have been ranked 3rd in the UK and 1st in Scotland by The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020.

The rankings are calculated from a number of categories including teaching quality, student experience, research quality and graduate prospects. Other subjects connected with the School have also been ranked in the top 5 in the UK. Anatomy and Physiology ranked 4th with Pharmacology and Pharmacy ranked 3rd.

Life Sciences students named amongst World's best

Three Life Science students have been named as some of the top undergraduates in the World, with one named as the top undergraduate in Europe.

Scott Sheldrick, Nicholas Gallagher and James Osbourne were were highly commended in the Life Sciences category of the 2019 Global Undergraduate Awards. The competition, which aims to celebrate top undergraduate coursework and foster interdisciplinary collaboration between students and recent graduates worldwide.

Dundee is University of the Year for Student Experience

The University of Dundee has been named University of the Year for Student Experience by The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020. The title confirms that Dundee is one of the best places in the United Kingdom to be a student.

It follows the University being placed 4th in the UK for overall satisfaction in this year’s National Student Survey, while Dundee was also named the Best Place to Live in Scotland by the Sunday Times earlier this year.

NSS success for Biological and Biomedical Sciences programmes

Following on from the University wide announcement about Dundee’s overall success in the National Student Survey 2019, further details at the subject level have now been revealed. Our Biological and Biomedical Sciences programmes have again improved in position across our degrees offered through the Schools of Life Sciences and Medicine, recording an increase in overall satisfaction to a new high of 94%.

Comic to raise awareness of coeliac disease

The University of Dundee’s renowned comics artists and writers have produced a new publication raising awareness of the serious and much misunderstood autoimmune condition coeliac disease. ‘Understanding Coeliac Disease’ will be launched on Thursday 16 May to mark Coeliac Disease Awareness Week. The 24-page comic seeks to make more people aware of what it is like to live with coeliac disease, the only treatment for which is a strict life-long gluten free diet.
