Fingerprints Proteomics Facility was originally funded through a Joint Infrastructure award from The Wellcome Trust, Office of Science and Technology and the Department of Trade and Industry. It was officially opened on the 28th May 2002 by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and has been operational for over 13 years.
The infrastructure of the facility has been designed with high sensitivity proteomics and mass spectrometry in mind and includes an area for sample processing and laboratory space for up to 12 state of the art mass spectrometry based systems. It is situated in the Discovery Centre alongside Professor Angus Lamond’s Laboratory for Quantitative Proteomics.
