The Centre for Advanced Scientific Technologies has developed an extensive training program to support staff at all levels in their careers at the University.

Research Training

The Centre excels in providing:

  1. One-to-one training, tailored to meet the specific needs of each research scientist
  2. Technology seminars, as part of the PhD training program, designed to provide an overview of how our technology fits with your research
  3. Hands-on workshops with industry specialists and academic partners, to explore real life applications
  4. Small group sessions on particular technological areas (e.g. data analysis)
  5. Demonstrations on new, cutting-edge equipment to understand future requirement
  6. Tours of our technology to provide an overview of what's available and how we can support you

Enhanced Learning and Outreach

The Centre aims to:

  1. Support the Life Sciences Public Engagement and Schools Outreach Programmme
  2. Contribute to the Life Sciences Undergraduate Teaching Programme
  3. Host Honours projects students and offering Nuffield Studentship placements
