* Open a window from My Computer

* In the Address field, enter \\mrc-smb.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk\ and press Go.

* In the login dialog box, enter your Life Sciences Directory username and password.

* All the browseable LS group folders will appear in that directory. //Note that all the MRC group shares are prefixed 'mrc-'.//

* TIP : right-click a group folder you frequently use, choose Create Shortcut, and save to your Desktop. Next time you need to connect, just click on that desktop shortcut to have the login dialog appear and connect to that group folder.

* To connect to your personal share, enter \\homes.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk\lsdusername in the Address field - Where lsdusername is your Life Sciences Directory username, eg:
  * \\homes.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk\pcohen
  * \\homes.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk\dralessi
  * \\homes.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk\jrouse

Note: if you are logged into a Windows desktop PC, with your Life Sciences Directory account, you will already be accessing your home directory and will not need to make a separate connection to it.
