* From the **Finder**, choose **Go > Connect to Server**
* In the **Server Address** box, enter address (e.g. smb://mrc-smb.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk)
* - Click on the '+' icon to add this address to your list of favourites. Next time you connect, just choose the favourite.
* Click on **Connect**
* Click on the popup list button to show the list of available group shares. Scroll down to the shared directory you want.
* Note that all the MRC group shares are prefixed '**mrc-**'.
* With the desired share selected, click on the '**OK**' button.
* At the log in prompt, enter your **Life Sciences Directory** username and password
* You should now see the server share on your desktop and in the Finder sidebar
