PhD applicants are requested to select programmes and supervisors from those programmes. Students with a diverse range of interests or limited research experience may find the Wellcome Trust 4 year PhD programme of most interest as it provides the opportunity to gain experience in different research areas during the first year. Applicants with more specific interests should apply to the divisional programmes that most closely match these. It is perfectly acceptable to apply for several different programmes. Following submission of your application form, short-listed candidates will be invited for interview throughout the year. Please note that for applications received after November 2010, candidates will normally be invited to attend one of our Interview Days:
If so, please indicate which programmes you are interested in, and for each one list, in order of preference, up to 4 supervisors from that division's PhD programme. If your interests are broad you may wish to apply to several divisions; however it is not always beneficial and it may be better to apply to those programmes that best match your research interests.
