In 2005 I graduated from the Technion's Laboratory Medicine Sciences course of study in Israel. My studies gave me a chance to experience medical research, albeit from a clinical point of view. I found basic science appealing, and decided to continue for an M.Sc. in Developmental Biology at the Technion. During my work in the lab I studied the effects of Pax-3 on mesenchymal to epithelial transition in the chick embryo.
After finishing my master's, I wanted to broaden my horizons and experience new disciplines within life sciences. The Wellcome Trust Ph.D. programme provided me with a great opportunity to taste different fields of study, techniques and specialties. Moreover, I believe the international nature of the programme and the caliber of labs in Dundee offer the best possible background for future scientists and, hey, Scotland's fun too!
