The following resources are available to postgraduate PhD students:

  • Postgraduate PhD booklets: The College produces a number of PhD booklets including (a) a general handbook, (b) a students' guide to the thesis and transfer committee systems, (c) generic skills and(d)  how to write up your PhD thesis
  • Organisation and Professional Development: As a postgraduate student you are part of a University which prides itself on the qualify of research, and which is dedicated to supporting your development as a researcher and helping you achieve your long-term career aspirations.  Part of this commitment involved the creation of Organisation and Professional Development - Research Councils UK funded transferable skills training resource for researchers.
  • PhDs in the College of Life Sciences, Dundee (PiCLS): PiCLS is the PhD student associations within the College.  They organise a range of events including sports and social events, ann annual PhD retreat, pub nights, a solely PhD student-organised symposium and an annual ceilidh.  They hold monthly meetings with divisional PhD reps to discuss upcoming events and get feedback and new ideas.  Meetings are open to all PhD students.
  • Professional Societies: As a student you may be eligible for reduced membership fees upon joining professional societies.  As a member, you will receive newsletters informing you of meetings, developments and sources of funding, and some professional societies will contribute towards travel expenses.
  • My Dundee: My Dundee is the University of Dundee's web-bases student portal. giving our students access to learning materials, ,student clubs and societies, and meny other resources.  It also provides access to University of Dundee webmail.
