There are many reasons why one would want to do a PhD in the College of Life Sciences at Dundee. With more that 1000 staff and research students and external funding in excess of £50 million per year, the College is one of the largest and most productive research institutes in Europe. Our reputation is genuinely global and is reflected in the fact that researchers in our laboratories represent no fewer than 58 different nationalities. Students in the College receive a great deal of support from their peers via the PhD student association (PiCLS) and the postdoctoral association (CLSPA).
Students in Dundee have ready access to state of the art sports facilities and the beautiful countryside on the outskirts of Dundee is within easy reach for those who prefer to participate in outdoor activities. In addition, Dundee University Students' Association has been voted one of the best in the UK.

The College of Life Sciences has a range of core facilities and research infrastructure to support world-class research. A variety of scientific and technical services are available to research staff within the College of Life Sciences and, in some cases, to external clients.
