Sandra O'Neill

Sandra is the Biology trainer for the Wellcome Centre for Anti-Infectives Research (WCAIR) at the University of Dundee.  Sandra gained her BSc (Hons) in Life Sciences from Napier University as a vocational qualification whilst working as a lab technician in Biochemistry and Immunology Departments at the University of Glasgow.  This was followed by ten years’ experience as an assay development scientist at the Organon/SP/MSD site at Newhouse near Glasgow and then seven years at the Drug Discovery Unit in Dundee. Sandra has experience in biochemical assays, biophysical work and cell culture which is necessary to help develop the drug discovery skills of our WCAIR Biology trainees.
