Biography

Hajara graduated in 1993 with a degree in Biochemistry from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Nigeria. She worked as a Laboratory Technician for 8 years at Bayero University in Nigeria before moving to the UK in 2003. She underwent a refresher course in Biotechnology at Dundee College in 2005, then secured a job as a Technical Assistant at the Central Technical Service, School of Life Sciences, University of Dundee from 2006 to 2007. She subsequently joined Professor Pauline Schaap's research group in the Department of Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology, engaging in Molecular Biology research in Cyclic-AMP signalling and evolution in Dictyostelia Species for 16 years. In May 2023, Hajara became the newest member of the FingerPrints Proteomics team and commenced working at the facility as a proteomics technician. Her primary responsibilities include sample preparations, instrumentation, and data analysis using the mascot software.
