ABOUT THE SOCIETY

HUBS: Heads of University Biological Sciences, open to heads of departments or their nominees, is a society which represents over 80 Biological Sciences departments in the UK, and acts as a forum for discussing national issues on the provision of research and teaching in the Biological Sciences. As a member of the Biosciences Federation, HUBS contributes to national debates on priorities in the biosciences, informed by the upwards of 3,000 academic specialists in the UK’s academic departments.
HUBS routinely runs two meetings per year: an Autumn meeting at the Royal Institution, which focusses on policy issues; and a residential meeting in early spring, which gives the opportunity for more extended talks and debates about matters relevant to the biosciences. Further information and a contact point is available through the HUBS website, http://www.biohubs.org.uk/
