Research Impact is the beneficial application of scientific research to achieve social, economic, health and environmental outcomes. In this sense, Research Impact is distinct from the influence of academic research, evaluated by scholarly and academic measures.

The College of Life Sciences is committed to maximising its Research Impact. This can be broadly divided into Outreach activities and what we have called simply Impact, which includes all research leading to practical outputs that improve quality of life, economic growth, the environment and policy making.

This site documents and illustrates much of our Research Impact. It also serves as an information base and portal for Outreach activities with schools and the general public and provides links to funding schemes for translational research and industrial collaborations.
