Kate Storey Biography
Kate Storey obtained a BSc Neurobiology at the University of Sussex (1979-1983) and undertook her PhD with Michael Bate, Dept. of Zoology and Kings College, University of Cambridge, UK.
With support of a Harkness Fellowship (1987-88) she pursued post-doctoral research with David Weisblat at University of California at Berkeley, before returning to UK for the birth of her first child.
She continued post-doctoral research with Claudio Stern, University of Oxford (1990-1994) before establishing an independent research group in Oxford, as a Departmental Lecturer and then University Lecturer/Fellow of ChristChurch at the University of Oxford.
In 2000, she moved her group to the College of Life Sciences, University of Dundee, where she held an MRC Senior Non-Clinical Research Fellowship (2001-2006). She currently holds a personal chair in Neural Development and is head of the Division of Cell & Developmental Biology in the College of Life Sciences, University of Dundee. Kate is a Fellowof the Royal Society of Edinburgh, The Royal Society of Arts and The Society of Biology.
