Carles Galdeano was born in Tortosa (Spain). He is Pharmacist and obtained his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry in 2012 from Universitat de Barcelona. He worked in the Development of New Dual Binding Site Inhibitors of Acetylcholinesterase as a treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease under the supervision of Prof. Diego Muñoz-Torrero and Prof. F. Javier Luque. He was awarded with a EMBO short-term fellowship to join the group as a postdoc in May 2012. He is currently working on Selective Chemical Interventions in Engineered Protein Interfaces and he thinks that this work with a multidisciplinary team may improve his expertise in medicinal chemistry. Outside the lab he likes to practice paddle-tennis and to go to the pub with friends.
