Microscopy
The Wellcome Trust Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression supports and works closely with the College of Life Sciences Microscopy facility. This facility enjoys a world-wide reputation in high resolution imaging, particularly state of the art live imaging of cells and imaging tissues made possible due to the light microscopy facility (LMF), which operates a range of light microscopes, including 6 DeltaVision Deconvolution systems and 3 confocal microscopes.
The facility also includes the electron microscopy and cell sorting (FACS) facilities and an extensive electron microscopy suite. Research at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression relies heavily on being able to localize proteins of interest in fixed and live cells, but also in whole tissues.
