Professor Nicole Zitzmann

Nicole Zitzmann is the Director of the Oxford Glycobiology Institute, and an Associate Head of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford. Nicole did her MSc and PhD in Dundee with Professor Mike Ferguson FRS, before taking up a postdoc position in Oxford in 1997. She held a Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellowship of the Royal Society from 1999-2003 and since then has built a multi-disciplinary team to develop novel host-target based antiviral therapies in collaboration with industry and academia, including approaches from glycobiology, biophysics and proteomics. She is a Fellow of the Society of Biology, Fellow of the Royal Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and Visiting Professor and International Advisor at the Center for Dengue Research at the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Sri Lanka
