"My name is Ajay and I am from India with a biotechnology background. Doing the MRes in Crops for the Future has to be one of the best decisions I have ever taken. I have had the opportunity to get to know people from all over the world, as well as to study at the world renowned Scottish Crops Research Institute near Dundee. The lectures, seminars and other teaching on this course was first class, allowing us to learn the latest techniques in plant science from some of the leading practitioners in the world. The course is extremely comprehensive, covering practically everything you might wish to know about crop science, and the best bit has been working in a research laboratory doing my project. The university of Dundee and the SCRI are one of the friendliest places I have worked, and there is a great atmosphere for study in this multicultural university where students come from all over the world to learn together and share experiences."


"When I joined the MRes Crops for the Future course I wanted to expand my knowledge in crop breeding and learn about the technology that is being used to allow crops to meet the future demands both in food production and renewable energy. Coming from a more practical side of crop production at first the course felt like a big leap from what I was used to but the friendly and helpful staff at SCRI and Dundee University were always happy to help when a problem arose. During this course we have met many people who are at the cutting edge of crop development and learnt a great deal of knowledge from them which I am sure will be very useful in my future career.

The MRes Crops for the Future course is based out at SCRI which is a great place to be studying set in beautiful surroundings. Although SCRI is not on the Dundee University campus it is easy to get to by bus, car, bike or simply walk as two of my class did. I would highly recommend this course as I know it has opened many new doors in my future career and has been a fantastic experience. "
