An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a full-time Laboratory Technician for a period three years. The successful candidate will assist the Laboratory Manager in provision of daily support service requirements for research staff working in a life science environment. Duties will include procurement of consumables, assisting in coordinating the maintenance and repair of equipment, expenditure monitoring, adherence to health and safety policy and procedures, and general housekeeping.

Laboratory Technician

The School of Learning and Teaching within the College of Life Sciences, wishes to appoint a laboratory teaching technician who will support the provision of a technical support service for undergraduate practical class teaching. 

Key Duties:

• As part of a technical support team you will be involved in the preparation, delivery and development of practical class sessions
• Organise, set out and clear up practical class experiments
• Where appropriate, give guidance and advice to junior members of the technical support team in Health and Safety, lab

Part-Time Research Technician in Biosensor Analysis (Maternity Cover)

Applications are invited for a research technician to work with Dr Iva Navratilova in the Biosensor Laboratory of the Division of Biological Chemistry and Drug Discovery. The post holder will provide technical assistance to Dr Navratilova to prepare biosensor experiments on Biacore instruments for a wide variety of projects, including fragment screening campaigns and membrane protein analysis. The tasks will cover buffer preparation, sample preparation, compound plating and generally laboratory management.

Postdoctoral Research Assistant

We seek a postdoctoral research assistant to work within the Nucleic Acid Structure Research laboratory for one year. The work involves the study of RNA structure and dynamics using single-molecule fluorescence resonance energy transfer. Experience with single-molecule microscopy is essential, and a background of working with RNA would be a significant advantage.
